Yes. The NVIDIA/Mellanox-compatible version is designed as a replacement option for 25GBASE-SR SFP28 850nm multimode links. Please confirm the host device and required compatibility coding before ordering.
Choose the Mellanox/NVIDIA-compatible version for Mellanox/NVIDIA NICs or switches, and choose the Cisco SFP-25G-SR-S compatible version for Cisco switches or adapters. The optical specification is the same, but the host coding should match the device where the module is installed.
No. This is an SFP28 module and cannot be directly inserted into a QSFP28 or QSFP56 cage. If you want to connect to a 100G port, the switch or adapter must support a proper 4×25G breakout solution.
25G SR is for short-reach multimode fiber links using 850nm optics, typically inside racks or data centers. 25G LR uses single-mode fiber for longer distances, commonly up to 10km.
