Two OSFP-800G-2FR4 transceivers are installed on both 800G OSFP switches and connected through two duplex LC UPC OS2 single-mode fiber cables, enabling direct 800G connectivity. It supports transmission up to 2km over OS2, making it suitable for Spine-Spine and Spine-Core high-speed interconnects in AI data centers.

Can this module be used on NVIDIA DGX platforms?

No. This module adopts a Finned Top structure and is mainly used for air-cooled switch ports, while NVIDIA DGX platforms usually require Flat Top OSFP modules.

Is this module compatible with NVIDIA QM9790 switches?

Yes. This series of products is compatible with NVIDIA Quantum-2 platform devices, such as QM9700 / QM9790 switches. Before shipment, AICPLIGHT will test the products in our compatibility lab and can provide corresponding test reports or compatibility verification documents according to project requirements.

Why does OSFP-800G-2FR4 use a duplex LC interface instead of an MPO interface?

OSFP-800G-2FR4 adopts CWDM MUX/DEMUX technology, which can multiplex optical signals of multiple different wavelengths into one pair of fibers for transmission. Therefore, it does not need to use a parallel MPO interface and instead adopts a duplex LC interface.

What application scenarios is OSFP-800G-2FR4 suitable for?

OSFP-800G-2FR4 is suitable for long-distance high-speed interconnects in AI data centers, such as Spine-Spine, Spine-Core, and core switch interconnect scenarios. Compared with MPO parallel solutions, the duplex LC solution can reduce the number of fiber cores required.
